Alaska is known as the Land of the Midnight Sun which means during the spring and summer Alaska gets a lot of daylight. Isnt that nice. 24 hours of daylight in some places. Alaska highway 3 mile, marker 317, 17 miles from the community of Nenana.
I was returning from Denali National Park heading back to Fairbanks when at 11:14:35pm at a temperature of 56 degrees,I stumbled on this and thought with amusement, Alaska, Land of the 11:14:35pm Sun.
The Interior is getting about 17 hours of daylight here in the month of May 2014. On the longest day of the year which is Solstice the Interior will receive 21 hours, 49 minutes of daylight. So in reality you do not have to wait tip midnight to see the midnight sun.
